"A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees." A quote from Amelia Earhart, whom this school is named after, provides us insight into an inspiring act of kindness that was captured in December.
Baylor Rolf and Chloe Puetz, both students of Amelia Earhart Elementary School, have been inseparable friends for years. Baylor was having a tough start to the day, and Chloe was called down to the office to help her friend walk to class. Upon arriving at the office, Baylor immediately noticed her friend, hugged her, and walked together hand-in-hand down to their classroom.
After noticing the pair together in the hall with such joy on their faces, we wanted to stop by and visit about the start of their day and the moment we captured. They described their morning together and how much it meant to Baylor to have her friend help her get to class. We asked Chloe why she wanted to help, and her response was, "My friend needed help and I wanted to give her a hug to help make her happy." In response, Baylor simply stated, "I love Chloe."
In visiting with Chloe's mother, Sarah Puetz, about the experience, she was proud of her daughter, but not surprised by her actions, saying, "The whole school, students and staff, are amazing. I know that Chloe was simply demonstrating the love and kindness that so many have shown and taught to her during her time at Earhart. Her teachers are inspiring and care so much about all the kids. We couldn't be any more grateful to be a part of the Earhart family."
