Caleb & Family

Students at Challenger Intermediate School recently surprised classmate Caleb Norman with glasses specifically to adapt vision for colorblind individuals. During an innovative science lesson in Mr. Doug Mann's class, there was discussion about colorblindness and how it can affect everyday life for those who have it.

An act of kindness sparked among the students, and other teachers got involved. As the conversation evolved, they knew they had to take action. Funds were raised by his peers to purchase adaptive glasses for Caleb, a member of their class with colorblindness, to use. These would specifically help him see the color green, which he had formerly been unable to view. "Colorblindness can be such a flat experience," shared J.C. Norman, Caleb's father.

"We're so fortunate to be a part of the Challenger family, and the Goddard community. They really invest in the children," continued J.C. after the students and staff surprised Caleb with his new glasses on Thursday, Dec. 14th. "I'm so happy he won't have to adapt any more."
