Amelia Earhart Elementary School is more than just a place of learning; it's a caring community. A community that thrives on school spirit, pride, and positivity. At the heart of this are two individuals who have become synonymous with the school's warm and welcoming atmosphere: Taylor Smith and Sarah Smith, the dynamic duo in the front office. Taylor, the Registrar and Attendance Secretary, and Sarah, the Treasurer and Finance Secretary, personify the spirit of Earhart with their fun and upbeat personalities. They help Marney Hay, Earhart's Principal, create a bright and accepting space in the front office for students, staff, families, and visitors. "The staff and students of this school are what drive me. Our students and families are amazing! The students are always ready to do their best, and that warms my heart every day. The parents are amazing and so supportive,” shared Hay. “And our staff...I cannot say enough good things about our teachers, paras, custodians, kitchen staff, related service providers, and front office staff. They are always willing to step outside their comfort zone to improve this school and work tirelessly every day to do their best for the students. I can't brag enough about our incredible staff!"

Staff like Taylor and Sarah in the front office are an integral part of what makes Earhart such a dynamic and vibrant institution. Taylor’s commitment is evident in every interaction. "I care so much about our students, families, and staff," she shared. "If I can show up to work and impact somebody positively that day, then I feel like I've done my job. I want to make my school proud, and for all of our students to be excited and ready to walk through the front doors every day!” Taylor is inspired daily to continue creating a positive environment within their school community. "Being able to connect with students, hear them, and know what they need, allowing them to take up space and time, means so much to me. Children notice when you hear and pay attention to them and acknowledge what they need," Taylor said. "They will recognize that and continue to come back to you, building trust and a respectful dynamic."

Taylor echoed her peer in this sentiment, “I would say that, in my own personal experience, putting my kids in the USD 265 District was the absolute best thing I could have ever done. The staff, even before becoming a staff member myself, is always so warm and welcoming. Everyone truly pays attention to details and what works best for your student!”

Principal Hay shared, “Earhart students bring their best every day, and have so much school spirit and pride. They help one another, work hard on their academics and behaviors, and are passionate about Earhart! In turn, I know that I need to work as hard as they do to provide them with a safe, caring learning environment that helps them become the best they can be."
