Good morning Goddard, America!
My name is Mycah Biering, I am a senior at Eisenhower High School, and the student co-chair for Neighbors United 2025! Our student leadership team (Stella Kitt, EHS; Emma Schmidt, Goddard Academy; Bella Ochoa, Elaia Baldwin, Taylan Urbina, and Charlotte Hickey, GHS) met on February 25, 2025, and we are very excited to kick off the Neighbors United volunteer event for our community.
Neighbors United is an annual, one-day event to strengthen our sense of community in Goddard by completing service projects together that beautify the community and allow people the opportunity to assist neighbors in need of a helping hand. Neighbors United 2025 will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 and teams will meet at various locations across Goddard. Click the link below to view a short video that will give you a good idea of what Neighbors United is all about!
From now until March 24th, the Neighbors United planning committee is seeking Project Sites (places and activities for volunteers to help), Sponsorships (support to help purchase breakfast, lunch, and t-shirts for volunteers), and Site Leaders (individuals who can help lead or co-lead a Project Site). After March 24th, the Volunteer registration information will become available on the Neighbors United Goddard's Facebook Page.
Do you or someone you know have a project they need help with? Fill out the project request form to get some projects done or trash/debris taken away during Neighbors United for free! There is no project too small - or too big. We are here to help our neighbors!
Some examples of Project Sites we can help you with:
Lawn care
Landscaping
Cleaning
Painting
Light repairs
We are open to helping you in any way we can, so please don't be shy about asking!

Neighbors United Site Leaders are individuals who would like to lead or co-lead a project site. A Site Leader will assist with coordinating a plan to complete their respective service project, communicate with volunteers, and serve as a positive representative for Neighbors United. This would be a great opportunity to develop leadership skills and serve your community. High school teachers, coaches, and sponsors, who wish to volunteer with their team or club, are encouraged to register as a co-site leader and will be paired up with a community leader to develop the project site information.
Click HERE to apply to become a Site Leader for Neighbors United. There is a Site Leader informational event from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at Pathway Church Goddard (18800 W. Kellogg Dr. Goddard, KS 67052) or contact Dane Baxa at danebaxa@goddardusd.com to learn more about becoming a Site Leader.
Neighbors United sponsorships are instrumental to the success of this event. We are seeking donations both monetarily and in-kind support from businesses, organizations, and individuals who believe in the mission of this event. If you or your business is interested we have a sponsorship form ready for you! We will recognize you or your business at the event both during the opening ceremony, on all of our traditional promotional materials, and on the back of our t-shirts.
Click HERE for the Sponsorship Form, or contact Ryan Shrack at rshrack@goddardks.gov.
The Neighbors United team is very excited to serve another year. We hope you will join us on Saturday, April 26th, 2025 to help make our community even better!
