Barrett

At Oak Street we are beginning our third school year of Motivational Mondays.  On this day staff can volunteer to wear a motivational sweatshirt or t-shirt that has a statement they would like to share with our students.  It could be something as simple as Be Kind or another favorite is You Can Do Hard Things!  The kids notice these and ask about the sayings.  The staff really enjoys the positivity they see and feel entering the buildings on a Monday morning.  This and the fact that they are allowed to wear jeans to start the week, really puts a smile on their faces!

One motivational staff member is "featured" each week, and is able to share why a specific quote is special to them.  This gives them time to show off their personal and heartfelt reasons.  These are posted on social media and are a way for parents to get to know staff a bit better.  Another small way Oak Street tries to show how they can positively affect a person's school day.

Today's Motivational Monday feature was Mrs. Barrett. She is our new full time social worker.   Her shirt reminded us that "The World is a Better Place with you in it!" With her background of social work, she wants every student and staff member to know that they are important in this world.

Be sure to watch for next week's Motivational Monday!!
