Congratulations, Tyler Hahn, Technology Specialist for USD 265, for receiving the District Attitude Award! His nominator wrote, "Tyler has the best attitude of anyone I know. He is one of those people who doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He answers all tech questions and issues with the utmost patience and politeness. He is nonjudgmental, and he makes you feel you can ask anything. He is also very quick to respond to questions and issues. Goddard is so lucky to have him. He makes my job easier, and I am so blessed to have him as our tech guy.”

Congratulations Hannah Gabel, Music Teacher at Clark Davidson Elementary School, for receiving the District Attitude Award! Her nominator wrote, "I am writing to nominate Hannah Gabel for a District Attitude Award because she perfectly demonstrates the ways teachers selflessly give to their students on a daily basis. Her enthusiasm for sharing her love of music with elementary students is perhaps most evident through her commitment to Lyrical Lions- CDS’ student choir.
A trained violinist, Miss Gabel accepted the challenge to work with students on vocal instruction after school each and every week to prepare for two programs this year. She approached kids week after week with optimism and encouragement. She created a harmonious atmosphere where everyone felt included and supported- and she did this on her own time, as a volunteer. There were countless hours put into preparing and planning outside the classroom as well.
I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact Miss Gabel’s kind and understanding nature has on the children she gives her time to. She is incredibly deserving of a District Attitude Award. Thank you for considering her for this honor.”

Congratulations to Jordan Brown and Ben Jervis, EHS/EMS/Discovery Band Instructors, for receiving the District Attitude Award.
Their nominator wrote, “Any teacher that can energize a room of high school students at 7:30 in the morning is someone I feel is deserving of an attitude award, and Mr. Brown and Mr. Jervis are two of those teachers. They bring enthusiasm to every class, as well as showing interest in each student and making us feel welcome and wanted as soon as we walk through the door. They also provide many opportunities for us to grow as musicians and individuals. Both sacrificed their spring break to take 70 students to Disney World to perform, scheduled time for us to learn from professors of music, and created an entirely new festival competition system to benefit their students. Being able to have these opportunities is all thanks to our selfless directors. Even with their own families and responsibilities outside of school, they still manage to put their students above themselves and support us in any way they can. Mr. Brown and Mr. Jervis are two of the most talented, encouraging, energetic, and patient educators and deserve recognition for everything they do for their students.”

Congratulations Sarah Mater, Kindergarten Teacher at Apollo Elementary School, for receiving the District Attitude Award!
Her nominator wrote, “Sarah Mater is the definition of a teacher who goes above and beyond in her classroom to provide the most impactful, enriching, and positive learning environment for her students. Do you hear those people talk about that one teacher they will never forget? I personally know that will be the case for my daughter.
As a teacher, I know what's expected of us, and she goes above and beyond daily. My daughter has excelled in her class with reading, math and beyond because of Ms. Mater's instructional design. Whatever student has the opportunity to be in her class will be impacted positively for life. She is an invaluable asset for Goddard USD #265!”

Congratulations to Shanda Busby, Challenger Intermediate School Teacher, for receiving the District Attitude Award!
Her nominator wrote, “Shanda Busby brings joy and positivity each and every day! She has brought fun into the world of Social Studies. Challenger 6th-grade students have had the pleasure of meeting with many community members and being exposed to different career fields. Shanda has brought in Veterans twice to speak to students, The Museum of World Treasure, an Anthropologist and Kake News. Not only has she expanded students' knowledge of the community opportunities around them while aligning it with state standards, but she has also brought joy back into school. Shanda also organized multiple 6th-grade classes to walk over to other school buildings in the district and give affirmations. These notes of affirmation brought smiles to staff all around the district. Social-emotional skills and learning are at the forefront of each of her lessons. Shanda checks in with students and staff to see if there is anything they need. Challenger staff and students are so lucky to have her!”
